Laura is a bilingual professional with over ten years of professional experience in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Her experience includes international community development, grant writing, public health, data analytics, government, and education. She currently works as the Senior Grants & Contracts Specialist at a nonprofit in Washington, DC, and has been on GEA’s Board of Directors since 2018. Prior to that, Laura lived in a Q’eqchi’ Mayan village in Guatemala from 2014-2017, where she worked with 82 different public elementary schools as a Regional Coordinator for the nationwide Healthy Schools Program. Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies with minors in Spanish and Political Science. In 2021, she also achieved a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute.
